BVW Jewelers is excited to present representation and inclusivity our new commercial, "Legacy," made in collaboration with Bryon Evans Films and ADJ Visions. This project focuses on Representation and Inclusivity, highlighting the rich history of people of color in Northern Nevada. "Legacy" centers on love, progress, and family legacies, aiming to increase both diversity and representation within our community.
About "Legacy"
During the Gold Rush era, many Black families moved to Northern Nevada, yet representation remains limited. ADJ Visions recognized the need for local talent and increased visibility. Through Legacy, we share the often-untold stories of people of color in Northern Nevada. The commercial follows a family’s journey across generations, celebrating their trials, love, and perseverance. Representation and Inclusivity add depth and meaning to our community by highlighting diverse stories.
The Story Behind Legacy
"Legacy" tells the story of a family overcoming challenges and emerging stronger. Many Black history narratives focus on struggle. Legacy instead celebrates progress, love, and resilience. ADJ Visions said, "So many stories from ancestors are lost or faded. We aim to share vibrant, complete stories from the past.”
Through BVW Jewelers and ADJ Visions, Representation and Inclusivity remain vital in bringing these narratives to life, adding to our shared heritage.
Celebrating Love & Inclusion
Historically, Black families have often been left out of the fine jewelry market, leading to fewer family heirlooms. At BVW Jewelers, we believe jewelry is for everyone. We celebrate love in all forms, including family love, love across races, and love among all genders and identities. Representation and Inclusivity remain at the core of our mission, welcoming people of color and LGBTQIA+ communities.
In "Legacy," symbols honor Black history and promote hope. The heirloom piece features the “Mpatapo” symbol, also known as the “knot of pacification and reconciliation.” This knot signifies unity and healing.
The Team Behind "Legacy"
We are proud to work with ADJ Visions, including team members August Anthony Allen, Darius Devine, and Justin Tanks, who wrote and produced the script. Many talented locals contributed, including Bryon Evans as Director of Photography and Zack Teran, who composed and performed the original score. Actors in the commercial include David Hayes, Shannise Mora, Grace Hayes, LaTara Misher, Persia Ghaffary, Cody Hamilton, Steve Longley, Claire Pierce, James Short, and Sandra Dee Richardson.
